About The Position

Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution has a temporary employment opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Specialist, you will perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance work to support facility buildings, grounds, and equipment. You will complete assigned work orders, assist with daily operations, and ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, functional, and efficient condition. Your work will span multiple building trades, including carpentry, plumbing support, electrical support, painting, welding, lock repair, and general maintenance. You will also assist with grounds maintenance, material handling, and tool inventory while following all safety, security, and operational procedures. Daily assignments will vary based on facility needs and workload.

Requirements

  • Two years of: a) general building maintenance; b) carpentry; c) electrical; d) mechanical; e) painting; or f) plastering experience.
  • A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience.
  • Be sure a copy of your journeyman's license/card is attached to your application form.

Nice To Haves

  • Operate and maintain a variety of hand, power and pneumatic tools.
  • Perform semi-skilled tasks of various trades.
  • Evaluate information against a set of standards and verify that it is correct.
  • Identify the nature of repair and maintenance problems.
