Local candidates ONLY! This position reports directly to the Project Director/Executive Director. This position will be responsible for upkeep of the physical plant of the facility ensuring a clean and safe facility. The Facility Maintenance Specialist will work collaboratively with the Resident Assistant Manager/Resident Assistants/Case Managers to keep the property and facility in good repair.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to effectively work with state and private vendors/suppliers
  • Ability to communicate and coordination with other facility staff
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Clean driving record abstract and ability to be covered by organization insurance
  • Must be energetic, dedicated to the mission and flexible
  • Must have at least two years experience with facility management or equivalent maintenance experience and/or ability

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer knowledge/experience working in the Waianae area

Responsibilities

  • Ensures high quality condition of the physical plant and surrounding area of the facility including all permanent and temporary structures as well as parking lot and surrounding landscape areas.
  • Provides direct service in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
  • Ensures effective coordination with all outside vendors, state agencies and other entities responsible for the upkeep of the facility and its property.
  • Makes recommendations to the Project Director/Executive Director/Management Team with respect to modifications of facility.
  • Implements directly or thru contract modifications and/or repairs to facility in a timely fashion.
  • Works collaboratively with fiscal operations to maintain needed supply inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Direct/Executive Director/Management Team.
  • Ensures each unit is "ready" for move-in
  • Ensures inspections of transitional units are performed monthly and annually for affordable units.
  • Maintains logs of all work orders and follows up with clients/residents within 24 hours.
  • Manages all maintenance work orders.
  • Submits all purchase requests for equipment, supplies, parts, etc. for the betterment of the facility.
