About The Position

Capitol Distributing is the largest convenience wholesale distributor in Idaho. Founded in 1983, Capitol delivers to retailers across the Western United States from its 300,000 square foot distribution center in Caldwell, Idaho. The Facility Maintenance Specialist will safely maintain, repair, & optimize our warehouse equipment. This includes power equipment, distribution machinery, conveyers, and building structures. This position reports to the Maintenance manager and is expected to operate with minimal supervision. Overtime may be required based on business needs and operational demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of work-related experience with equipment repair and maintenance
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to stay productive and positive with minimal oversight
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school education preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Works as a team to ensure the facility is clean, safe, and functional
  • Ensure the safe operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of electrical and mechanical systems and equipment
  • Monitor and document maintenance schedules, repairs, replacement parts, and compliance records. Adhere to established preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and other supplies. Responsible for logging time, materials, and other costs
  • Interpret and understand specifications and operating/maintenance manuals
  • Ensure food product integrity through proper execution of HACCP System
  • Lead safety initiatives by proposing policies and assisting in writing procedure manuals and training
  • Own communication of all appropriate information regarding system operation and maintenance to all department managers and leadership team
  • Employees in this position may be required to carry a company-provided cell phone for communication
