About The Position

The Facilities Worker provides essential sanitation and facilities support to ensure Southwest Church remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for ministry and events. This role assists with set-up, tear-down, and routine cleaning while maintaining facilities and equipment with excellence.

Requirements

  • Must be a member, or willing to become a member, of Southwest Church.
  • Teachable spirit with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate commercial cleaning equipment.
  • Physical requirements: frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions; ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the set-up and tear-down of facilities for ministry programs, meetings, and events.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as commercial vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, including washing windows, emptying trash cans, and cleaning restrooms and offices.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is needed.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure facility readiness and cleanliness for services and events.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain proper care of church property and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
