Under general supervision of the Supervising Building Service Engineer, the Facilities Worker II independently performs a wide range of complex semi-skilled and basic skilled facilities and systems maintenance, repair and renovation work. The Facilities Worker II is expected to use a broader knowledge in several trades and a basic knowledge of theories, codes, procedures, and general trade practices in applicable trade areas. Incumbent will work under the direction of a Building Service Engineer on the more complex, trade-related assignments. This incumbent will be primarily responsible for HVAC maintenance support and other maintenance. Examples of work activities in basic trade areas for this classification may include installing faucets, flush values and other basic pluming devices; running DWV piping, soldering pipe, and clearing drains; installing outlets and switches; building basic formwork; setting and pouring concrete; performance skilled laborer work; and performing routine mechanical maintenance.
