About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for the reliable operation and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures a safe, functional, and efficient environment through routine maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams. This position is on-site in Forest City, North Carolina.

Requirements

• Typically 2+ years in facilities maintenance, building systems, or mechanical trades.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CPR/AED, BAS).
• Technical skills: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance.
• Problem-solving: Diagnose and fix system failures efficiently.
• Safety awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Communication: Effective interaction with staff, vendors, and internal teams; good documentation skills.
• Organizational skills: Manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, handle inventory.
• Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, ammonia refrigeration and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues such as leaks, clogged drains, lighting failures, and HVAC malfunctions.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent facility issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor carpentry, painting, furniture assembly, event setup/teardown, and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules, building codes, and regulatory requirements (fire, safety, environmental).
• Adhere to food safety standards (e.g. FDA, SQF, USDA, HACCP), Wow Bao’s internal policies and OSHA regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, inspections, and inventory.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tools and maintenance supplies.
