About The Position

A nonprofit founded in 1969 in Charlotte, North Carolina, we have grown to become one of the largest providers of comprehensive substance use disorder treatment in western North Carolina. From initial assessment to customized aftercare, McLeod Centers provides compassionate, steadfast support for our patients’ journey to recovery. We are looking for dedicated, reliable, and skilled professionals to join our team! MCLEOD CENTERS FOR WELLBEING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A FULL-TIME FACILITIES TECHNICIAN to support the maintenance, safety, and overall functionality of our facilities across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant facilities, maintenance, or technical experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License (required).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate physical activities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Sound judgment and ethical decision-making
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance to ensure all facilities, systems, and equipment function safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify repair needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues in collaboration with staff and external vendors when necessary.
  • Use established checklists and guidelines to evaluate HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall facility conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with Facilities staff and other departments regarding ongoing projects, repairs, and priorities.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support operations.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices and emerging trends to improve facility operations and safety.
