About The Position

CLARK Material Handling Company, is a 100 year old company, and a global leader in the material handling and forklift industry. CLARK is seeking qualified candidates to join our team. The Facilities Technician, is an onsite position located in our Lexington, KY manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and responding for general building maintenance duties. Items will include, but are not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, facility repairs, security & fire systems, pest control program, landscape program, office relocations, and general safety systems. This position will require the employee to work with various departments on a regular basis, while at other times working without supervision. This position will also require being on call for emergencies related to the building.

Requirements

  • Must have prior facility maintenance Experience.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime if necessary.
  • Willingness to respond to night and weekend building emergencies.
  • Able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Motivated, results-oriented self-starter with acute attention to detail.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability complete projects within deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills to research, data entry and basic computer work.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary of facilities.
  • Will assist Facilities Manager with the fire and security systems, janitorial services, pest control services, office relocations and all aspects of the facilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance check of facility heating, cooling, plumbing, lighting, fire protection and electrical systems as needed.
  • Will be responsible for mowing, weed eating, landscaping items, trimming of shrubs, snow & ice removal etc. at the facility.
  • Prepare facility for meetings and large events onsite/offsite.
  • Participate as a member of safety committee and stay compliant with 5S. Carryout assignments given by these two committees relating to safety and environmental protection.
  • Must be able to work under various weather conditions inside and out.
  • A strong aptitude in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and/or mechanical.
  • Safely use a wide range of tools and equipment such as (but not limited to) drills, air tools, vises, clamps, hammers, saws, ladders, hand tools, and scissor lift etc. as needed to complete tasks.
