About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and operational tasks to ensure the Plant's facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role involves working with building systems, addressing maintenance issues, and supporting the overall infrastructure needs of the facility.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to become forklift certified within 30 days of assuming role.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Visual aptitude – must be able to see with or without correction and be able to differentiate colors.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in facilities management or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting, and other building infrastructure. Diagnose and repair minor issues in building systems and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Assist in coordinating and overseeing work performed by external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Facility Operations: Support the setup and reconfiguration of office furniture and equipment for events, meetings, and workspace changes. Monitor building systems and equipment to ensure optimal functioning and energy efficiency. Manage inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment for maintenance activities.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting routine safety checks and inspections. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe environment. Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed logs and records of repair work and inspections. Provide information to leadership regarding facility conditions and maintenance activities for management review.
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
