About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting restaurant facilities and equipment across assigned locations. This role supports restaurant operations by ensuring building systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, a hands-on mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Relevant certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience supporting commercial or restaurant environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, repairs, and part replacement.
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Tasks may include moving equipment, unloading materials, and performing labor-intensive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems, electrical components, and mechanical systems in restaurant facilities.
  • Identify and resolve system malfunctions involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.
  • Replace defective parts such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and electrical components.
  • Safely operate hand tools and power tools while following all safety protocols.
  • Maintain and monitor air and water treatment systems to meet health and safety standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend equipment life.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical diagrams to guide installation and repairs.
  • Perform general handyman work, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.
  • Diagnose issues and determine when external contractors are required.
  • Communicate clearly with restaurant management, vendors, and internal teams to resolve facility issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, invoices, and parts used.
  • Travel between restaurant locations as needed.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues to minimize operational disruptions.
