About The Position

The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a skilled and reliable Facilities Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our members and community. As a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the Y relies on its facilities team to keep operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll complete maintenance tasks, respond to work orders, and support preventative maintenance efforts across the facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience
• 5–10 years of facilities or maintenance experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.)
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety compliance standards
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks

Nice To Haves

• OSHA certification and/or trade licenses

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and light construction
• Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Maintain outdoor grounds (landscaping, snow removal, general upkeep)
• Assist with aquatics maintenance, including pool systems and water quality
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies
• Conduct regular facility inspections for safety and cleanliness
• Track inventory and order maintenance supplies
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors
• Partner with facility leadership to support daily operations
