About The Position

At Getinge, the Facilities Technician II works under direct supervision to perform maintenance of building facilities and support equipment, as well as hazardous waste support. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Hazardous Waste Coordinator Certification.
  • A minimum of two years hands on maintenance experience with electrical skills.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of tools, materials, methods and practices in general building maintenance.
  • Uses tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
  • Must be able to identify problems or potential problems and take initiative to correct them.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • A general knowledge of custodial functions including (but not limited to) electrical, carpentry, custodial, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic repair for building systems, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, structural and cosmetic.
  • Performs basic building and grounds maintenance.
  • Assist with ice and snow removal on walkways to ensure safety standards.
  • Interact with cleaning company to assure cleaning needs are met.
  • Help maintain HVAC system.
  • Provide backup coverage for Custodial Assistant job duties.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Support hazardous waste activities.
