About The Position

Inspects, maintains, and repairs basic equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction and operational maintenance as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physically able to lift 75 lbs.
  • This position is currently ineligible for H1-B sponsorship.
  • A qualification for this position includes independent eligibility to work within the United States upon hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
  • Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
  • Performs routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
  • Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
  • Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries to appropriate entities under general supervision
  • Assist plumber, electrician, carpenter, painter and locksmith with repairs when needed.
  • Purchase and maintain inventory of supplies, tools and parts.
  • Assist the Residence Life Director and Facilities Manager with preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Move furniture as needed for programmatic needs.
  • Train and direct student workers. This includes oversight of scheuldes, workload and qulaity of work performed
  • Maintain exercise equipment and repair as required.
  • Install, maintain, and make minor repairs to air conditioners.
  • Inspect interior and exterior building conditions to determine required repairs, coordinating with Facilities Management and Residence Life for plan of action.
  • Conduct work as determined by assigned work orders.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of conducting university business and meet the criteria for operation of state-owned-vehicles – Policy 615
  • Complete required trainings and professional development as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
