About The Position

Apogee Architectural Metals, a segment of Apogee Enterprises, Inc., is seeking a Facilities Technician I. Apogee Enterprises, Inc. is a growing, profitable company founded in 1949 with annual revenues approaching $1.3 billion, providing distinctive metal and glass solutions for commercial buildings and glass/acrylic solutions for picture framing and display. Architectural Metals provides aluminum windows, curtainwall, storefront, and entrance systems, offering integrated capabilities including design, engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly. The Facilities Technician I is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and conducting minor repairs on buildings and equipment, as well as performing semiskilled duties in painting and plastering.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-1 years of related experience
  • Ability to work under close supervision and follow detailed instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license (as required by site).

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Cuts and maintains lawns and grass.
  • Rakes leaves and cares for plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
  • Determines the appropriate plants or shrubs for walkways or garden areas.
  • Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons.
  • Responsible for snow and dirt removal.
  • Keeps the grounds and environment of a facility in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition.
  • Common area and event waste removal, floor cleaning, event furniture setup and clean up.
  • Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment.
