About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, skilled Facilities Technician/Handyman to support ongoing maintenance and repair needs at our HQ, manufacturing and testing sites. This role requires a versatile professional who can work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to maintenance and support needs across multiple environments. Please note that this is an onsite role in South San Francisco with occasional travel to Half Moon Bay.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or trade certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, mechanical repair, or related trades.
  • Experience supporting facilities duties in a corporate office or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, dollies, or light material handling equipment.
  • Proficient in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and ticketing systems like Jira.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive and repair work for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance, including basic electrical repairs, plumbing fixes, drywall repair, painting, carpentry, and hardware replacement.
  • Execute general handyman tasks such as patching and painting walls, replacing ceiling tiles, and installing fixtures.
  • Manage and monitor ticketing systems (e.g., Jira) and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets, documenting all completed work consistently
  • Maintain relationships with vendors; schedule, manage, and support their activities onsite.
  • Assist vendors during site visits, ensuring access and proper coordination.
  • Support onsite events by assisting with setup, execution, and breakdown of event-related tasks.
  • Comply with safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognize and report safety hazards, proposing methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Respond promptly to repair calls and perform light landscaping duties as needed.
  • Assist janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests, including moving furniture and disposing of waste.
  • Identify and report hazards or equipment failures immediately.
