About The Position

The Facilities Technician 2 is an experienced professional with related skills to perform maintenance and inspections of property. This role involves performing moderately difficult inspections of facility systems, troubleshooting and diagnosing repair needs, and executing regular repairs, preventative maintenance, and improvements across various facility components. The technician will also manage material sourcing, inventory, and assist with project planning and event setups, all while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Possess a basic understanding of the methodologies of facility preventative maintenance and facility asset lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with computers and tablet devices.
  • Ability to understand and navigate functions in software applications used for tracking, managing, and scheduling facility related work.
  • Be able to recognize and strive for high quality end results with tasks and projects.
  • Be able to receive guidance and input from others.
  • Recognize when your existing skill level will not allow for a quality result and seek input and help from others.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have good communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Be able to hook up and drive vehicle with a bumper pull equipment trailer.
  • Have familiarity with operating and maintaining moderate complexity level tools and machinery, such as a forklift, aerial lift, drain snake, table saw, core drill, stand behind skid steers, jack hammer.
  • Ability and willingness to provide guidance to other facilities technician staff.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Have the stamina and capability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various environmental conditions with only periodic breaks.
  • Be able to lift 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Technical training and certifications in disciplines related to Facility Management, Construction Management, or Apprentice trade levels preferred.
  • 2-3 Years of relevant experience preferred
  • Certifications for operating tools and machinery (forklift, aerial lift, drain snake, table saw, core drill, stand behind skid steers, jack hammer) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform moderately difficult inspections of facility systems, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofs, and exteriors.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to facilities managers.
  • Provide diagnosis and recommendations for repairs.
  • Reliably troubleshoot and diagnose facility repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Perform regular, moderately difficult repairs, preventative maintenance and improvements to facility fixtures and systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofs, building exteriors, painting, drywall, carpentry and concrete.
  • Maintain accurate schedules and records of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Source and make prudent purchasing recommendations and decisions for all materials needed for facility repairs, preventative maintenance, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels of common use materials on service vehicle.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service vehicle.
  • Assist in project planning and execution for facility upgrades or renovations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks involving facility systems, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofs, and exteriors.
  • Assist with occasional setup and breakdown of facilities furniture and furnishings for events and operational needs.
  • Maintain worksite cleanliness and organization at facility job areas.
  • Be proficient with basic tools and equipment for common handyman repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain and keep tools/equipment clean and tuned.
  • Assist with inventory management of supplies and tools.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines for all tools and jobsites, including adherence to protocols for wearing proper safety attire.
  • Other duties as assigned.
