We’re looking for Facilities professionals to join our team in Girdwood, Alaska . What You’ll Do As a Facilities Tech 3 , you’ll play a key role in providing general upkeep of resort facilities, grounds, and general maintenance of buildings, equipment, and operational systems. This position will work with other departments and personnel as needed for requests ranging from minor maintenance to larger repairs and preventative projects. This role leads in implementing a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure continued operational efficiency and ensure the overall appearance and operational integrity of resort property.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years for Tech I, or four years for Tech II, of various skilled trading such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole.
  • numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out.
  • instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have or be able to obtain within the introductory period, the following: Valid Alaska Driver's license, second Class Boiler Operators License or ability to acquire within 6 months.  For Level II: Certified Pool Operator license.
  • Weekend/holiday work is expected.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with repairing kitchen equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a variety of mechanical items.
  • Obtain bids for material as needed.
  • Prepare requisitions for purchase.
  • Clean work areas and dispose of any trash and debris.
  • Performs tests and inspections of pool equipment and chemistry.
  • Clean, check and adjust a variety of electrical equipment such as motors and fans.
  • Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  • Maintains induction and air handling units; completes filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and/or cooling systems.
  • Maintains buildings, performing minor and routine carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
  • Maintains all building systems up to manufacturers’ specifications and ensure all building systems are compliant with local, state, and federal code.
  • Responds to emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational.
