About The Position

The Facilities Support Technician ensures the IBHS campus, laboratory spaces, and office environments remain clean, safe, and operationally ready. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a professional and hazard-free environment that supports research, testing, and member engagement activities. Through consistent attention to detail and proactive facility support, this position contributes directly to workplace safety, operational efficiency, and the overall experience of employees and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior custodial, janitorial, or facilities experience preferred but not required
Ability to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated reliability
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning & Maintenance Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of offices, laboratories, restrooms, conference rooms, and common areas according to established standards
Maintain floors, windows, surfaces, and fixtures in accordance with facility standards and organizational expectations
Remove waste and recyclables and manage disposal procedures in compliance with environmental guidelines
Support cleaning needs related to laboratory testing activities and construction debris when required
Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times
Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or facility concerns promptly to the Campus Operations Manager
Ensure cleaning materials are stored safely and inventory is maintained appropriately to prevent safety risks
Operational Support Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving furniture or equipment as needed
Support seasonal facility needs, including storm preparation and minor grounds support
Maintain custodial equipment in proper working condition and report maintenance needs
