About The Position

Provides strategic leadership for Facilities Support operations across multiple university campuses, ensuring clean, safe, and well‑maintained learning, research, and administrative environments. Oversee performance management, coaching, and professional development for staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with institutional goals and values. Administers multimillion‑dollar service contracts—including custodial services, waste removal, and recycling. Responsible for campus wide event setup and tear down, dry ice delivery, surplus inventory disposals, receiving/loading docks, and pest management—while ensuring full compliance with university policies, state and federal regulations, and environmental health and safety standards. Collaborates closely with academic units, student services, facilities management teams, and external vendors to support space transitions, capital projects, special events, and emergency response efforts. Drives operational efficiency, service quality, and resource stewardship through data‑informed decision‑making and proactive planning. Plays a key role in advancing strategic initiatives related to customer service, sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating an engaged, collaborative, and inclusive campus community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • 5 (five) or more years work experience showing progressively responsible experience in facilities management or related activities
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience is required
  • Must possess a current, valid Colorado Drivers License or have the ability to obtain one
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Considerable knowledge in facilities management activities, procurement, contractor management, and emergency response, etc.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of personnel management in areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to effectively manage both supervisory and technical personnel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and other electronic resources.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive working relationships with associates, administrative staff, faculty, and personnel internal to the university and external agencies or organizations.
