About The Position

The Facilities Services Department Leader position is a leadership role focused on strategic oversight of facility building operations, capital equipment tool installation, and Infra Risk Prevention maintenance (preventative and corrective) across the entire plant. This includes ongoing upkeep, upgrades, and optimization of production infrastructure to support reliable, efficient, and compliant operations. The role demands high ownership, accountability for managing labor, materials, budgets, and timelines to ensure tasks are executed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate ideas, make recommendations, and negotiate project details with their team, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management within an industrial or manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing teams and complex operations.
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical, electrical, and electronics aptitude, with proven ability to design, install, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment and controls.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance and support personnel, including recruitment, onboarding, training, task assignment, performance evaluation, and development to ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality execution of all facility functions.
  • Direct and coordinate external contractor services, including developing project specifications, soliciting and evaluating bids, overseeing execution, and conducting final inspections to verify quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to the process engineering team on equipment, controls, monitoring systems, and process performance issues.
  • Establish, enhance, and maintain a robust record-keeping system for all owned plant and process equipment maintenance activities, including documentation of repairs, upgrades, and performance history.
  • Generate clear summary and detailed reports on maintenance activities, associated costs, equipment failure analysis, and performance trends to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive site-wide maintenance schedule in collaboration with the internal maintenance team, external suppliers, subcontractors, and operational stakeholders.
