About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Project Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of new construction and remodel projects in our different food facilities. This role is responsible for planning, budgeting, permitting, contractor management, and ensuring all work meets regulatory codes and operational needs. The ideal candidate has strong construction project management skills, a deep understanding of building systems in food production or food service environments, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing commercial construction or remodel projects, preferably in food manufacturing, food service, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and applicable codes/regulations for food facilities.
  • Experience working with municipalities and navigating permitting processes.
  • Excellent budgeting, estimating, and cost-control skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, USDA, or other food facility compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination Develop comprehensive project plans for new builds and remodels, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure facility designs meet operational, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Permitting & Compliance Work directly with municipalities to secure building, health, and other required permits.
  • Ensure all projects meet applicable building codes, food safety regulations, and local/state/federal requirements.
  • Budget & Cost Management Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction, equipment installation, and associated expenses.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management Select, schedule, and oversee subcontractors for construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other trades.
  • Maintain clear communication and accountability with contractors to ensure work is completed to specifications and within deadlines.
  • Timeline & Progress Tracking Establish project schedules and track progress against milestones.
  • Identify and resolve delays or issues that may impact delivery dates.
  • Facilities Oversight Oversee and support operational readiness of facilities post-construction, ensuring smooth handoff to operations teams.
  • Maintain records of warranties, service agreements, and compliance documentation.
