Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing facility, construction, or capital projects in multi‑site environments such as social services, healthcare, education, government, or commercial portfolios
  • Experienced in standard construction practices, building systems, and maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of New Mexico building electrical and plumbing codes, OSHA safety regulations, and environmental standards
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures
  • Must be pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid NM driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to lift 80 lbs., crawl, climb 20 ft., crouch, kneel, sit and walk occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, balance push/pull, and carry frequently.
  • Must be able to work with paints, dust, cleaning chemicals, and other solvents as required in performance of job duties.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to travel to other agency locations without prior notice, Adelante is a drug free workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Lead renovation, repair, and improvement projects across 40+ locations statewide
  • Plan projects from concept to completion — scope, budget, timeline, and quality
  • Partner with program leaders to understand what staff and clients truly need
  • Ensure compliance with ADA, OSHA, life-safety, and regulatory standards
  • Oversee contractors, architects, and vendors with confidence and clarity
  • Keep projects moving while programs continue operating safely
  • Track budgets and documentation for grant-funded and public contracts
  • Support preventive maintenance planning and long-term facility health
  • Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions when possible
  • Perform other required duties
