What this job involves The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and operation of properties and staff as directed by clients and in accordance with Jones Lang LaSalle standards and procedures. This role requires organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, effectively managing through stressful situations, consistently making high-quality decisions, and developing and managing client relationships. The position provides leadership and direction for the efficient operations and maintenance of all facility electrical, mechanical, structural, and life safety systems while ensuring contract compliance and quality control. The successful candidate will oversee staff management including selection, counseling, appraisals, and recognition, prepare detailed operational budgets and reports, and deliver specialized service to clients through conflict resolution and solution analysis.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant facilities management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, data center operations, UPS, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and related systems
  • Managerial experience with proven budget and personnel management responsibilities
  • Experience with MS Office suite and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) databases
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while managing through stressful situations

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of relevant facilities management experience
  • Advanced technical knowledge of building systems, data center operations, UPS, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and related infrastructure
  • Advanced experience with MS Office suite and CMMS databases with ability to generate analytics and reports
  • Professional presentation skills for client meetings and executive communications
  • LEED certification demonstrating knowledge of sustainable building practices
  • Universal certification for refrigerant handling and HVAC maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight of facility staff with input on selection, counseling, performance appraisals, and recognition while recommending salary, promotional, disciplinary, termination, and other personnel actions
  • Delivering leadership and direction for efficient operations and maintenance of all facility electrical, mechanical, structural, and life safety systems to ensure optimal building performance
  • Developing and maintaining positive client relationships through effective communication, conflict resolution, and solution analysis while partnering with internal areas to deliver specialized services
  • Overseeing contract compliance management and quality control while ensuring adherence to the JLL Engineering compliance program across all facilities
  • Preparing detailed budgets for operations and creating regular and ad-hoc reports to support financial planning and decision-making
  • Managing building systems including data centers, UPS, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC to ensure continuous operation and preventative maintenance
  • Utilizing MS Office suite and CMMS databases to track work orders, maintenance schedules, and facility performance metrics
