This role is responsible for overall management of the onsite teams delivering exceptional operation performance in the verticals as outlined below. Workplace services team delivering services for a Class A office environment, including concierge services, workplace experience programming, and onsite event support. Logistics teams managing operations, including onsite shipping and receiving staff as well as coordination of offsite storage and cross docking solutions at consolidation center. Hard Services team overseeing all client-owned mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) assets to ensure operational reliability and compliance. Food Program staff operating a large-scale food program that includes an onsite café and beanery, delivering a high-quality dining and in-depth catering experience for occupants. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, large scale operational experience with a customer service mindset in the following areas.

Requirements

  • 8 -10 years of progressive experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a pharmaceutical, life sciences, or similarly regulated industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., IFMA, CFM, PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring alignment with ESFM/AstraZeneca business goals, contractual performance standards, and service level expectations.
  • Manage a $5M+ annual operating budget, including forecasting, variance tracking, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Drive vendor performance and accountability, ensuring adherence to contract SLAs, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for continuous improvement, sustainability, and innovation in facilities operations.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of facilities professionals, fostering a culture of safety, service, and professional growth.
  • Support the production and execution of tasks related to emergency preparedness, business continuity planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal EHS and quality standards.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the client’s senior leadership, translating business objectives into facilities strategies that enhance productivity using best current practices as well as leveraging AI technology where applicable.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence, ensuring all team members and vendors are aligned with client values and operational goals.
  • Represent the IFM program in governance meetings, audits, and executive briefings, providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of facilities professionals, including engineers, coordinators, and service partners.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safety-first culture, encouraging open communication, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and succession planning to ensure team resilience and bench strength.
