About The Position

The Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center looking to hire Full Time Facilities Manager. Established in the year 2002, the CJMC has a main location in Perth Amboy, NJ 3 School Based Health Centers in Newark, NJ, and a site in Carteret, NJ.The fundamental reason this classification exists is to manage Central Jersey Medical Center facilities. Oversee and coordinates the work of other, non-licensed facilities maintenance staff ensuring that all locations are in working order and secure upon opening and closing of the business day. May be placed on call to work extended hours or sent to another CJMC location, as required by management or facility need.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor’s instructions.
  • General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building maintenance trades
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, given proper instructions
  • Ability to do heavy lifting
  • Ability to follow instructions, given either orally or in writing
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, and air conditioning equipment
  • Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
  • Principles and practices of safe motor vehicle operation and maintenance
  • Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in motor vehicle operation
  • Provide on-call response for facility emergencies and special requests.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the field of general repairs, including at least one year's experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, and air conditioning; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Position requires the use of the personal or Medical Center vehicles for Medical Center business. Individual must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record.
  • Use of a personal vehicle for Medical Center business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a Medical Center vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of building electrical systems, HVAC systems, low pressure boilers, plumbing, and water supply systems.
  • Keep all medical and non medical equipment in compliance according to laws of the state of New Jersey.
  • Knowledge of digital HVAC control systems and computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of specialty.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.
  • Ensure maintenance on a range of facility equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
