About The Position

We are hiring a Facilities Manager for our brand new, gated community Woodleigh Chase in Fairfax, VA. This role will oversee the functions of Housekeeping and Transportation. Compensation: Starting at $85k annual salary, based on experience How you will make an impact: The Facilities Manager will oversee the day-to-day functions of the Housekeeping & Transportation departments, building culture and team Assist the director in developing, tracking and analyzing quality control measures and data to ensure that each department supervised delivers quality service in an efficient manner. Assist the director in ensuring that all departments under his or her leadership meets financial and general reporting goals and deadlines. Periodically assess quality assurance through surveys and holding meetings with residents Facilitate staff meetings for supervisory staff to discuss upcoming events and initiatives. Facilitate staff meetings for employees, to keep employees informed of what is happening or planned. Ensure timely evaluations and job training for all staff. Coordinate succession planning and career development initiatives for all members of the departments supervised. HOUSEKEEPING: Manage the housekeeping functions of assigned personnel. Oversee the scheduling of work assignments. Review and resolve complaints from residents, departments and staff. Provide disciplinary steps related to problems with all staff, up to and including termination. Management of the solid waste and recyclable program. Ensure timely evaluations and job training for all staff. Manage the oversight of entire community’s set-ups and arrangements for all events. Oversee the internal pest control program for internal community spaces on an on-going basis. Coordinate succession planning and career development initiatives for all members of the departments supervised. Maintain inventory and order supplies and equipment necessary to maintain the cleanliness of all facilities. Routinely conduct quality control inspections for entire facility to determine housekeeping needs and deficiencies. TRANSPORTATION: Ensure all new drivers are trained in operational and safe driving procedures. Develop and maintain current pricing policies for routine and customized trips. Establish driver schedules for “Off Hours” operation Schedule customized trips upon request Arrange campus-wide fleet rotation for preventive and corrective maintenance. Responsible for obtaining pricing and the purchase of new vehicles and carts campus-wide. Oversee the Transportation Department’s dispatching operation Evaluate road conditions during inclement weather and decide when to modify/cancel operations or routes. Responsible for the necessary billing of trips Develop and maintain operational budget for department Resolve resident customer complaints regarding private sedan and shuttle service.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred; experience in lieu of some college may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in Housekeeping/Transportation required.
  • Knowledge of current DOT driving standards and regulations.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and must be willing to learn other application software relating to the job functions.
  • Ability to budget and forecast net income and expenses accurately.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and flexibility in work shifts
