This work involves working with a crew or working alone to complete minor facilities repair and maintenance for all City Departments, which may include any of the following: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, office furniture, glass and masonry. Performs assigned duties in setting-up and breaking down for meetings and events. Performs general maintenance/cleaning of City facilities as required. Has responsibility for some department records and reports; maintaining preventive maintenance schedules; recommends ordering and stocking of equipment and operating supplies; inventories supplies; makes daily decisions on preventive maintenance actions requiring sound judgment. Heavy lifting often required. Participates in on the job training and safety programs. Involves use of different power / non-power equipment and materials.
