About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician for Materne North America is responsible for performing maintenance for the plant utility equipment, buildings and grounds, including preventive maintenance checks, repair work, and operating the utility equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 Years of previous facilities and utilities maintenance
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS
  • Adequate organizational skills
  • Adequate communication skills
  • Ability to express priorities and needs in both written and verbal form
  • Must show a willingness to receive vendor supplied training for utilities technology to further education
  • Must have basic understanding of operating and maintaining utilities equipment
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical background
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the food industry is a plus
  • Formal education and training on maintaining utilities equipment a plus

Responsibilities

  • Completion of work orders and documenting reports in the CMMS
  • Document inventory check outs and create purchase requisitions in the CMMS
  • Login to automated reporting systems for air compressors and other utilities systems
  • Understand operate equipment via HMI’s for waste water, air compressors and incoming water
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Check daily oil levels, temperatures, pressure and check on equipment
  • Maintain waste water treatment plant building and equipment including, pumps, motors, valves, piping, floats, controls, flow meters, as well as chemical pumps and tanks (confined space entry is required)
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment in WWTP
  • Clear paths for winter ground water samples.
  • Maintain waste water rapid infiltration basins
  • Perform daily checks of well pressures, tanks, plumbing, and temperatures
  • Repair any leaks
  • Perform daily checks on equipment in the green sand iron removal building
  • Perform daily checks for water softener hardness and iron levels of the outgoing water
  • Change out water filters
  • Gather and record daily meter readings from water supply for the water softeners in the process and boiler feed system
  • Perform quarterly and annual sampling of the water supply
  • Install new water supply as needed to new processes
  • Maintain the chlorine injection system
  • Complete preventive and correct air compressor maintenance (both daily and annual)
  • Maintain Refrigerated air dryers and air filters
  • Interact with and maintain flow meters, computerized monitoring system, moisture monitor
  • Perform daily safety checks
  • Perform daily checks on water flow, meter readings, temperatures, pressures and boiler conditions.
  • Maintain deaerator system including feed water pumps, suction strainers, and PRV and controls
  • Check and adjust to boiler, condensate, and water softener water analysis
  • Do preventive maintenance on floats, controls, condensate pumps, steam traps, and valves
  • Repair steam leaks on piping as necessary
  • Prepare for annual inspections by performing the shutting off, teardown, and cleaning of the boilers
  • Start-up and operate the natural gas boilers
  • Complete weekly meter readings
  • Maintain piping after the meter
  • Perform equipment maintenance or replacement
  • Work with contractor on troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform weekly churn testing on fire suppression pump and system
  • Assure the heater and the propane are maintained for emergency generator and exercise monthly
  • Complete building maintenance as requested
  • Perform roof maintenance as needed
  • Perform meter readings on plant electrical equipment
  • Complete electrical repairs and troubleshooting
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on dock locks and levelers
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on overhead doors and man doors
  • Fix floors and drains
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC units, air handling equipment, and ducts
  • Maintain septic systems for the facility
  • Complete maintenance on the lighting throughout the facility
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on battery chargers and associated equipment for changing stations
  • Repair warehouse racking
