It is the responsibility of the Facilities Maintenance Technician to assemble, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. YOUR IMPACT Use various types of hand tools in the assembly of automated material handling vehicles Use and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of material to identify “best method” to completing tasks Self-audit/inspect assembled work prior to final inspection, using drawings and checklists Perform simple to complex assembly of components to produce miscellaneous parts and equipment Work as part of a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environment Provide constructive problem-solving input to the team and work to achieve production goals under the supervision of the Assembly Team Lead Use standard methods, procedures and documentation such as routings, work orders, verbal and written instructions, print sketches, charts, tables and other information Perform simple to complex assembly of components to produce miscellaneous parts and equipment Work as part of a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environment Provide constructive problem-solving input to the team and work to achieve production goals under the supervision of the Assembly Team Lead Use standard methods, procedures, and documentation such as routings, work orders, verbal and written instructions, prints sketches, charts, tables and other information Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of medium/heavy mechanical assembly experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, bills of material and electrical schematics
  • Prior experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Previous experience using fitting equipment (e.g., cutters, wire strippers, crimping tools)
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprints and layout work
  • Ability to use shop arithmetic including decimals and fractions
  • Ability to use judgment to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures
  • Must have basic tools of trade
  • Attention to detail, quality, and safety
  • Ability to stay focused and work with little or no supervision required
  • Advanced knowledge of assembly working in mechanical and electrical assembly processes
  • Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
