At this exciting time in our company, ABC stone has an opportunity for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Tech to join our growing team. Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility by performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems. This role follows established service, quality, and safety standards to complete preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and assist with facility improvements. Responsibilities include servicing mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution components, and HVAC units; performing basic construction and repair tasks such as painting, drywall, carpentry, and fixture installation; and supporting waste management and safety systems. The technician utilizes a work order system to document activities and may work alongside or assist licensed trades and contractors on specialized projects or complex repairs. Success in this role requires prior facilities maintenance experience, OSHA certification, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator with strong administrative skills to help ensure the facility operates smoothly and safely.

Requirements

  • 5 Years experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician
  • Experience in Carpentry, Electrical Work and Mechanics, including forklift maintenance
  • Proficiency in purchasing tools, equipment, supplies and inventory
  • OSHA Certified required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized individual with attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must have a clean and valid drivers license
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience.
  • OSHA Certification
  • Forklift Experience
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulder level, fine finger dexterity, climb & balance
  • Ability to withstand indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (extreme temperatures and related conditions)
  • Ability to use ladder
  • Ability to operate machinery
  • Required vision abilities: peripheral, and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles and wide range of temperatures
  • At times exposed to loud noise levels
  • Lift and or move up to 80 pounds regularly

Responsibilities

  • Delegating cleaning and maintenance tasks to outside cleaning service.
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces to ensure OSHA compliance
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
  • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
  • Idle time to be spent supporting warehouse material handling
