About The Position

The Facilities Maintenance Technician works within a team to maintain and repair all systems and equipment at Austin’s premier performing arts campus. The ideal candidate for this position communicates effectively in a team environment, demonstrates a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, and works efficiently and accurately with or without direction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to learn ticket tracking and calendaring/scheduling software.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to practice regular attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited trade or technical school certificate in HVAC and/or Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Registered Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician license

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facility, grounds, equipment, and furniture to identify maintenance needs.
  • Evaluate, perform, and complete maintenance requests to ensure all spaces are in good repair and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Work with internal staff and external vendors to support event and facility needs.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and facility project status as well as expendables used.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of commercial plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC equipment, lighting, appliances, and grounds maintenance.
  • Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair energy management, electrical, HVAC, auxiliary, and power systems and commercial kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Monitor and navigate Building Automated HVAC Systems to verify and ensure proper temperatures in the building and on stage.
  • Daily utilization of ticketing, calendaring, and time tracking software to contribute to the team’s efficiency and output.
  • Work within the company’s health & safety programs, protocols, and guidelines at all times.
  • Support the team with other duties as assigned.
