About The Position

The Facilities and Maintenance Assistant Manager will assist in leading our maintenance team operation. Work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance procedures and projects for the hangars, terminal and off-site government affairs buildings, focusing on safety, efficiency and client satisfaction. The Facilities and Maintenance Assistant Manager will primarily work during the day and evening to support overlapping shift work – specifically on 2nd and 3rd shift. The Assistant Manager, in coordination with the Manager, will verify and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the safety of employees and customers by OSHA and Airport Policies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in business, facility management, engineering or building construction or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of facility management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS programs - Excel, Outlook, Word.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) system.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising, mentoring, guiding and directing employees in a similar job group.
  • Proven ability to manage by influence and ability to build and maintain credibility.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in oral and written forms effectively and efficiently, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress, offering solutions to resolve issues.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task.

  • Pass the Boston Logan International Airport SIDA badge and drivers test within two (2) tries
  • Pass a driving history check
  • Possess a current driving license
  • Reside within 40 minutes of the work location.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise 2nd and 3rd-shift high-skilled and general maintenance technicians.
  • Train and lead team members in preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Under the Manager’s direction, establish priorities daily for all facilities maintenance requests and adjust schedules to meet regular and emergency demand.
  • Assist the Manager implement work order schedules and maximize usage of available capacity and resources along with daily office operations.
  • Conduct daily facility inspections to identify necessary repairs.
  • Ensure before and after work photos are captured.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections and tasks according to maintenance schedules
  • Communicate and enforce workplace safety precautions.
  • Use computer-based CMMS system to create and closeout work orders with data including labor hours, equipment, maintenance, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor inventory, order supplies and coordinate with outside vendors.
  • Assist in managing building projects and ensure quality control.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and address their concerns. Assume primary contact role in Manager’s absence.
  • Participate in management meetings and provide project updates.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of the facility and the facility maintenance program.
  • Direct and participate in snow event responses.
