Our global organization supports the full lifecycle of facility services beginning with site selection, design & construction of manufacturing and office facilities, including communities and culture. The Facilities Leader is the single point of contact and Building Owner for all Facilities needs (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds). They are responsible for strategic planning to execute a high level of facility services within a site. They will work closely cross-functionally with the business partners and tenants to ensure execution of the service agreement to create places people want to be. Provides high level support to complex, high visibility activities within the building footprint.

Requirements

  • 3 years prior experience in facilities, ideally working in a manufacturing facility
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Engineering or Facilities Maintenance/Management) or equivalent work experience
  • Electrical & Mechanical education and experience for facility management systems such as HVAC, Fire Suppression systems, Compressed Air, Steam / Chilled water, Alarms, security, mobile equipment
  • OSHA, State & Federal facility regulation knowledge
  • Manufacturing System knowledge (GMS, Business Plan Deployment & problem solving)
  • Finance & Budget planning experience
  • Communicate proficiently to all levels of the organization (Shop floor to executive, including Vice Presidents)
  • Customer Focused mindset
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Timely and effective problem solving

Nice To Haves

  • BOMI, IFMA, 6 Sigma or other applicable professional certifications
  • Project Management experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Be a leader in the GM safety culture, ensuring everyone goes home safely every day, through extensive knowledge of the workplace safety system and safety contract management
  • Provide results in a manner that is truthful and demonstrates strength of character

  • As a single point of contact for the building tenants, you will be responsible for daily interface and coordination of all Infrastructure and Corporate Citizenship activities for their respective building(s) and/or business unit to ensure high quality and timely delivery of building maintenance and housekeeping services
  • Act as the voice of the tenant in long term project planning and execution by pulling in the required resources such as Facility Engineering, Facility Construction, Transformation, Resource Management, Communications, Real Estate, Food and Administration Services
  • Responsible for supporting the workspace transformation projects and culture change by actively partnering with the ICC’S cross functional teams
  • Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is complying with GM Global Safety standards, including but not limited to: Speak up for Safety, Global Call to Action, Safety Observation Tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, and sentinel events
  • Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is delivering efficient and timely execution of all facility services in the areas of Maintenance, Housekeeping, Roads & Grounds services, as well as driving continuous improvements and sharing lessons learned
  • Drives strategic and analytical planning to optimize building and facility services guided by industry benchmark standards including for example: space utilization (move service center, furniture/ergonomics), energy efficiency, Service Agreement deliverables, and On-Demand activities
  • Develop creative solutions to complex facilities challenges
  • Utilize technology and information in support of GM’s mission to deliver data driven solutions that allow us to operate efficiently now and in the future
  • Drives successful planning and execution of all Infrastructure and Corporate Citizenships-Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and elements within their portfolio
  • Provide a high level of problem-solving ability to deliver solutions to the continually changing tenant requirements
  • Speaks up to ensure we are doing the right thing for the right reasons
  • Maintain open communication between the tenant and Facilities by leading tenant interface meetings
  • Role model and reinforce our vision, mission, drives and behaviors that cultivate our cultural transformation
