About The Position

Facilities Janitor & General Maintenance Laborer Transdev in Miami, FL is hiring a Facilities Janitor & General Maintenance Laborer. The Facilities Janitor & General Maintenance Laborer is responsible for performing janitorial, custodial, and general labor duties related to the cleanliness, maintenance support, and operation of buildings, grounds, and facility infrastructure. This role supports routine cleaning services, environmental cleanup, general maintenance assistance, and emergency preparedness activities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1–3 years experience in janitorial, custodial, general labor, or facilities support preferred
  • Experience working in outdoor environments and/or industrial settings preferred
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Ability to safely operate basic tools and equipment (hand tools, pressure washer, cleaning equipment, etc.)
  • Ability to follow safety rules, procedures, and hazard communication guidelines
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal/written instructions
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains assigned buildings, facilities, break areas, restrooms, and common spaces.
  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and sanitizes floors and surfaces to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Cleans restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures; restocks supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Removes trash and debris from interior and exterior areas and ensures proper disposal.
  • Performs routine deep-cleaning tasks including power washing, scrubbing, and disinfecting as needed.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly, following all required safety procedures and labeling requirements.
  • Reports facility issues such as leaks, damage, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to supervision.
  • Maintains janitorial supplies and ensures equipment is stored properly after use.
  • Available to assist with general labor and regular maintenance tasks as needed, including support for facility upkeep, corridor operations, and special projects.
  • Supports emergency response activities such as hurricane preparation and recovery as directed.
  • Follows all established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
