What You’ll Do The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of building maintenance functions, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general facility upkeep, and grounds care. This role supports day-to-day operations and ensures a safe, functional, and efficient workplace environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Valid Michigan Driver License required with good driving record.
5+ years’ experience in trades preferred, with specific training/experience in commercial and/or residential construction, electrical work, rough framing, plumbing, painting, HVAC, and locksmithing.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent; and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

Technical certification preferred.
Forklift certification, EPA certification, or trade licensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform Preventative Maintenance tasks to ensure proper operation of equipment and safety systems.
Maintain accurate PM logs, digital reports, and inventory tracking.
Conduct electrical maintenance, including fixture replacement or repair using appropriate tools.
Handle minor plumbing tasks, such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and installing fixtures.
Execute minor carpentry and masonry tasks, including hanging doors and fitting locks.
Reconfigure and install modular offices and space using various tools.
Clean and maintain work areas, assist with trash removal, event setup, and window washing.
Paint various structures and equipment to maintain a safe working environment.
Pick up supplies from local sourcing locations as needed.
Assist with lawn care and other general maintenance activities.
Perform light HVAC maintenance, such as changing filters and cleaning coils.
Conduct snow removal using plow truck, snow thrower, or shovel.
Perform ground maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and fertilizing.
Respond to critical alerts and off-hour emergencies of an on-call rotation.
