About The Position

VP Racing is seeking a mid-to-senior level Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician with strong experience in automated equipment maintenance and repair, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. This role is primarily responsible for maintaining and repairing specialized operational equipment (various car washes across San Antonio) while also supporting broader facility maintenance needs across our Elmendorf, Texas plant. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role ideal for an experienced technician who can independently troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex equipment, while also contributing across multiple skilled trades when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent AND at least five (5) years of experience of related experience; OR any combination of education and experience that results in the applicable skills, knowledge, and abilities.
  • Willingness to work hard, learn quickly, and prioritize safety every step of the way
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs., operate forklifts/equipment, and work both indoors and outdoors
  • The ideal candidate must be extremely organized and able to manage the logistics of multiple duties with professionalism and strong communication skills.
  • strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on specialized automated equipment and systems
  • Analyze mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures; disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using wiring diagrams, schematics, and volt/ohm meters
  • Read and interpret manufacturer manuals, technical specifications, and SOPs
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently
  • Maintain equipment, motors, machines, tools, and materials to customer and industry standards
  • Support general facility maintenance across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and light fabrication areas
  • Assist with facility inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair planning
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas, tools, and storage spaces
  • Support cost control efforts by evaluating parts, warranties, vendors, and service options
  • Assist leadership with maintenance planning and equipment needs
