About The Position

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Property and Facilities Supervisor, provides day-to-day direction and supervision of front desk switchboard reception and custodial unit employees in order to maintain that building environments remain clean and customer-service oriented. Provides day-to-day direction and guidance to lead workers assigned to custodial teams in all related work not limited to cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and other cleaning tasks to be completed at all CMHA-CEI facilities as assigned. Supports the Building Maintenance and Grounds team by assisting on related building maintenance needs as assigned in a support role. This may include working with staff members or vendors and contractors to get work completed while keeping the Building Maintenance and Grounds Coordinator as well as the Property and Facilities Supervisor well-informed of progress and updates. Works with the Property and Facilities Supervisor and department management team to evaluate various facility needs and repairs. Prepares annual plans and budgets for review by the Supervisor related to assigned duties and area of responsibility. Responsible for adhering to and enforcing CMHA-CEI procurement, purchasing and contract related Policy and Procedure. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI mission, policies and procedures. Requirements: Possession of an Associate's Degree in Business Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field from an accredited college or university required. Possession of a Trades Certificate or Associate’s degree in a related instruction program will be given consideration. A minimum of one year of progressively more responsible experience as a lead worker or a supervisor required. A minimum of five years of experience in environmental services with responsibilities related to; leading the work of others, scheduling, administrative duties, work planning and organization of operations. Consideration will be given to other skilled trades’ experience related to environmental services. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required. Demonstrated leadership and good judgment skills required. Must be able to accurately and effectively communicate in verbal and written form. Must be physically able to stand, sit, drive, and walk for extended periods of time. Physical ability to access all work sites and lift materials of various weights and size. Conditional Employment Requirements: Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history. Salary/Hours: Starting salary $60,993-$70,953 annually with scheduled increases that could lead up to $91,149 annually. 40 hours per week.
