Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. The Design Manager will oversee a multidiscipline design team to produce innovative and effective design solutions and design construction documents. This role requires a seasoned professional with a background in architecture or engineering, possessing both a degree and a license, along with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering high-quality design outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional license (e.g., Architect, Professional Engineer) in good standing.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in design, with a focus on leading multidiscipline teams.
  • Proven experience in producing design solutions and design construction documents.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced design technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a multidiscipline design team to deliver design solutions and construction documents.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and other departments to ensure design alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Manage design schedules, budgets, and resources to meet project deadlines and financial targets.
  • Foster a creative and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve design documents for accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and advancements to inform design practices and strategies.
  • Manage cross-discipline BIM standards.
