About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working Knowledge of Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Maintains current certification from American Red Cross, Lifeguard Pro, YMCA, BSA, and First Aid training.
  • Must obtain a Lifeguard Instructor certification from American Red Cross, Lifeguard Pro, YMCA or BSA within 90 days of hire.
  • Must obtain a Certified Pool Operators (CPO) or an Aquatic Program Operator (APO) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross.
  • Three (3) years or more experience in a supervisor position running facilities and aquatic programming.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the coordination of duties of the Lifeguards.
  • Maintains an environment that is friendly, healthy, and safe for public use.
  • Inspects facilities for cleanliness and coordinates the daily maintenance of the facilities at the OH-NTC.
  • Provides oversight of all facility contracted services and their contractors.
  • Exercises excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Assists with the employment process related to hiring, corrective action, and coaching.
  • Oversees payroll time keeping and schedules for the lifeguards.
  • Communicates policies and procedures in the operation of the aquatic venue.
  • Works closely with the Department Supervisor on all needed expenditures for the operation of the facilities at the OH-NTC.
  • Works closely with the Billing Coordinator to complete purchases for the facilities.
  • Responds to emergencies according to policy and procedure and completes proper documentation.
  • Follows an emergency action plan established in the event of an emergency.
  • Cautions Lifeguards regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards; enforces pool rules and regulations.
  • Coordinates the set up and strike of hosting events on the facilities at the OH-NTC.
  • Respects the rights and privacy of others and holds staff member information in strict confidence.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Provides aquatic staff orientation and monthly in-service to all staff hired; attends staff meetings as required.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organized.
  • Must possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Advises management regarding conditions/practices that may pose a threat to health and safety.
  • Responsible for the availability and safekeeping of emergency equipment.
  • Keeps scoreboard, clocks, sounds system, timing systems, and vacuums at each venue in working condition.
  • Keeps accurate maintenance charts.
  • Orders all chemicals needed at the pool and maintains proper water chemistry.
  • Works closely with OH Fleet with the maintenance of our OH NTC vehicles
  • Works closely with sports turf management contractor for the maintenance of the sports fields and track grass surfaces
  • Always presents professional appearance and attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Provides other related duties as needed.
