About The Position

The position of Facilities Cleaning Tech is responsible for performing timely cleaning and assisting general repairs as necessary, maintenance, and preventive maintenance needs of the facility, grounds, and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent OR four years of high school AND two years of related work experience OR three years of high school AND four years of related work experience OR two years of high school AND five years of related work experience with an established business organization. For substitutions, the candidate must be able to pass a competency-based skills and comprehension test.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of janitorial experience in a healthcare setting; preferably.
  • Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Visual acuity - always
  • Hand-eye coordination - always
  • Lifting approximately to 10-30 lbs., Pushing, Pulling - sometimes
  • Stooping, Bending, and Standing - sometimes
  • Walking- frequent; short distances
  • Hand Dexterity- manipulate hands/fingers for cleaning.
  • Hearing - must be able to hear within a normal range for safety and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Meets daily with supervisor to discuss special needs, problems, and assignments.
  • Adheres to a sanitation and cleaning schedule checklist in accordance with OSHA and industry-specific guidelines.
  • Performs all daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements, including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, cleaning wall and light fixtures/coverings, and inspection / replacement of light bulbs as needed, etc.
  • Maintains lobby, waiting rooms and other clinic areas.
  • Clean glass entry and reception areas of fingerprints, smudges, etc.
  • Clean spills and/or accidents following proper protocol and guidelines.
  • Reports maintenance needs to Facilities Lead and/or Director of Facilities.
  • Regularly surveys facility, grounds, and equipment and report issues, as necessary.
  • Maintains outside of facility by raking debris, cleaning sidewalks and keeping entry areas clear of trash and leaves, with close attention to safety during inclement weather conditions.
  • Perform routine daily checks of thermostats, air/heat flow, interior and exterior lights for proper working conditions.
  • Ensures the security of buildings through locks and security system at beginning and end of each business day.
  • Keep Facilities Lead and Director of Facilities informed of any safety concerns.
  • Responds to emergency problems if applicable to job functions.
  • Maintain skill and safety level to operate numerical calculations, cleaning equipment, precision tools, and manual and finger dexterity.
  • Performs other cleaning duties upon request of Facilities Lead and/or Director of Facilities or designee.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, may be asked to deliver packages, supplies and/or documents to a site you are assigned to.
