Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) proudly opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in May 2024—an expansive, 100,000+ square foot space nearly twice the size of our original Tinton Falls location. This milestone marks the continuation of over 40 years of dedicated service to our community. Equipped with advanced diagnostics like MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, and a PET scanner, the hospital features 52 exam rooms, 12 surgical suites, a dedicated emergency department, and expanded training spaces. Thoughtful amenities—including feline-only waiting areas, a rehab unit, comfort rooms, and a serene zen garden—reflect our commitment to exceptional care for pets and their families. We are seeking a mid-level Facilities Associate to support the Facilities Manager/Supervisor in maintaining mechanical systems and overall property operations. Position Overview: The Facilities Associate is a mid-level position working under the supervision of the site Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Duties involve assisting in maintaining all mechanical systems as well as the general maintenance of the commercial property. In this role you will assist in the daily maintenance scheduling and task completion of the above along with light driving duties as needed in combination with the Facilities Manager/Supervisor. You are expected to function daily with minimal supervision in performing service tasks. You are also responsible for inspecting the premises and reporting issues directly to your supervisor. Compensation: $21-$24/ hourly, based on skills and experience Anticipated Schedule: Full Time Monday - Friday 3:30pm-12am Essential Job Functions: Assist in the daily operation and general maintenance requirements of the commercial equipment. Perform necessary maintenance on all mechanical systems. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as directed by site management and/or the Maintenance Supervisor. Assist in shipping and receiving and mail activities. Perform maintenance on floors when needed. Occasional patient transport/driving as needed. Perform other job duties as assigned. Maintenance team members also participate in hospital Emergency Response Programs (ERP). These programs include: Fire Evacuations and Safety Hazmat Remediation Weather Emergencies (may include extended onsite coverage) Major Equipment Failures Due to the sensitivity of supporting a medical facility, some work must be scheduled for "off hours" to avoid interrupting medical staff, patients, and the workflow. Medical and client needs always take priority over maintenance work. Maintenance team members are also "on call" to respond to any building emergency issues should they arise. Typical Daily/Weekly Tasks: Medical Gas/Vacuum Systems - monitor gas reserves and medical pump activity, documenting quantities and meter readings. Checking outlets and hoses for leaks. Fire Detection/Suppression Systems - check system status of controls. Report all anomalies. Minor upkeep, i.e. drain condensate from suppression lines, etc. Lighting- check all interior and exterior lighting and replace as needed. This includes all task and medical lighting fixtures. Plumbing - ensure all sinks and drains are clear; all faucets, toilets, etc. are in proper operating condition, including all waste water sumps, drains, and exterior drainage. Electrical - examine equipment for damaged electrical connections, outlets, breaker panels, and GFI faults. HVAC- check all HVAC systems and ensure proper temperatures are being maintained. Check belt wear, condensate pans, etc. General Conditions- inspect all areas of the building interior for cleanliness and damage and take appropriate steps to rectify. General Equipment - assist in equipment evaluation and repairs. Central Vacuum Systems - ensure system is emptied and clog-free. Grounds Maintenance - ensure property is clean and free of debris. Trash receptacles are available. Snow Removal - Assist in snow removal and deicing when needed. Should be able to safely operate snow removal equipment. Coordinate with the snow removal contractor and monitor their responsibilities. Work Orders - respond to staff general requests for assistance or maintenance. Transportation - assist in transporting patients and supplies. Shipping & Receiving - prepare paperwork and packaging to ship medical equipment. Receive and unpack medical equipment and log shipping documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • General computer knowledge and computerized work order management system abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and construction practices
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
