By The Hand is a not-for-profit, religious organization. Individuals employed at By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students, and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching. Rate of Pay: $24 per hour Overview of Position Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Assistant supports the Director of Facilities and the Facilities department with all on site operations of By The Hand. This includes all duties related to custodial care, property and vehicle management. The position helps maintain the general upkeep of By The Hand property. Spiritual Requirements Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God, and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church. Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living. Shows by example, the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship. Leads a team devotional on a regular basis and participates in weekly team prayer. Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires. Works with staff and members of the EOS Leadership Team to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further By The Hand’s religious purpose and freedom.

Requirements

  • At least one years’ experience in facilities maintenance, janitorial, or housekeeping is preferred.
  • Must be able to work outdoors and stand the majority of time during working hours.
  • Requires movement of equipment between rooms and/or locations and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The individual is also required to travel to other organizational sites to address maintenance, cleaning, repair and other jobs.
  • This position does not work remotely.
  • The employee is regularly required to speak and listen.

  • This position requires a valid driving license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in facilities maintenance programs including preventative maintenance and replacement schedules.
  • Maintains internal standards for facilities, equipment, furnishings and fixtures.
  • Ensures building exteriors are well maintained including daily trash pickup and removal, landscaping and snow removal.
  • Conducts daily facility checks (creating service tickets as necessary)
  • Proactively perform routine maintenance items in a timely fashion for all assigned sites.
  • Regular communication with the Facility Department, joining weekly meetings (EOS).
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.
