About The Position

Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities team in Pittsfield, MA. The Facilities Assistant supports the Director of Facilities. This role is ideal for a reliable, self-motivated individual who enjoys hands-on work, takes initiative, and can support multiple departments as needed. JOB OVERVIEW The Seasonal Facilities Assistant supports the Facilities Department in ensuring that all BSC buildings and grounds are well-maintained, safe, clean, and operational throughout the season.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, landscaping, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs as needed.
• A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to assist other departments.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of interior and exterior company buildings.
• Track and manage inventory of supplies, tools, and materials.
• Clean and restock facilities, including restrooms, offices, and public spaces.
• Assist landscape volunteers with outdoor care and beautification projects.
• Support basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., cleaning, fueling, scheduling service).
• Provide general facilities support to adjacent departments as tasks relate to Facilities.
• Complete other maintenance duties as assigned by Facilities leadership.
