General Purpose: In order to ensure an engaging, safe and empowering customer experience at Stride sites, the Facilities and Site Security Specialist openly interacts with all clinic visitors and staff. This position will ensure the standards of cleanliness, maintenance of buildings and grounds, and safety. Perform tasks that maintain a safe, patient centered and secure environment for staff and the public. This position is responsible for the overall security and safety of the environment by utilizing hospitality, communication, problem solving, and crisis intervention techniques to anticipate visitor’s needs. This position uses a proactive approach in performing their duties, helping to eliminate potential problems well before they ever surface. They are assigned back of the house as well as patient facing responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
  • Ability to examine characteristics of problems and identify individual and system-level solutions to implement
  • Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, changing and sometimes stressful environment where you must be flexible and learn quickly.
  • Ability to follow all traffic laws, maintenance of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance required. Must have dependable personal vehicle required for transportation between site locations.
  • Ability to apply defense tactics, non-verbal communication skills and crisis intervention skills (training to be provided by Stride) to mitigate, diffuse and/or control instances of escalated anxiety and unrest.
  • Customer service and hospitality skills, including the ability to anticipate patient needs.
  • Skill in using a variety of computer software including but not limited to the internet and MS Office Products.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, equipment and machinery required to perform the job/task of a technician
  • Attention to detail must be followed at all times.
  • Ability to handle and protect sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions quickly.
  • Ability to access roof areas, basements, crawl spaces, tunnels, and other minimally accessible areas on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, OT and Saturdays as needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of all hazardous equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to perform tasks with the necessary equipment and appropriate tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Required: Minimum of one year work experience in facilities
  • Required: Minimum of one year experience in Security and/or Crisis Prevention Intervention.
  • Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Required: Must be 21 years of age.
  • Required: Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Crisis intervention, defense tactics training experience preferred, but willing to train.

Responsibilities

  • Transports items between Stride locations, including but not limited to: Stride interoffice mail, patient information, employee information, medical equipment and supplies, vaccines, prescription drugs and proprietary business information.
  • Transports pharmaceuticals from Wheat Ridge to Englewood every morning.
  • Transports items to locations other than Stride sites, including but not limited to hospitals and other business entities.
  • Perform perimeter walks at every clinic visited to ensure safety standards are compliant. This is to include general housekeeping, snow removal, sweeping sidewalks, removing litter, changing light bulbs, moving equipment, furniture, and assisting in general needs of staff and patients.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of interior clinics on a daily basis. Communicate with staff, community members, and supervisors to insure a clean, healthy, and safe environment.
  • Complete necessary repairs and tasks as directed. This will include all safety protocols, courier services, and facility maintenance.
  • Identify concerns for patients and visitors and implement most effective customer oriented solutions to remove barriers to a positive experience.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to identify building repairs and safety concerns.
  • Ensure basic facility repairs are made in a timely manner.
  • Set up for meetings and events. Moves office and building furniture and equipment
  • Investigate and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, and other related situations through the “Help Desk” ticket system.
  • Perform essential “on call” responsibilities when scheduled. “On call” will include immediate reaction to all clinic emergency calls after hours.
  • Respond to various alarms and codes in accordance with organization protocols. Serve as a resource and subject authority to all staff regarding various response protocols.
  • Take active role in Helping other departments and events throughout our geographical areas of service.
  • Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Regular travel to all Stride sites and other locations, aligning with Facilities Supervisor’s site schedule.
