Nature and Scope of the Facilities and Maintenance Assistant Position This is a part-time, non-exempt position whose principal responsibility is to perform a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of the Library building and grounds to support the delivery of service to Library patrons.
Requirements
- Knowledge, skill, and ability in performance of standard custodial tasks.
- Working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patrons and staff.
- Ability to independently exercise judgment within established library policy.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively with a wide range of individuals, in some instances under stressful or emergency conditions.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and responsibilities to utilize time most efficiently and effectively.
- High School diploma (or equivalent), required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in janitorial, general maintenance, or related fields, preferred.
