About The Position

Quanex is looking for Fabricator - 1st Shift to join our team in Richmond, IN. The primary function of the Fabricator is to work cooperatively with team members to use blueprints and technical drawings to assemble and repair door thresholds. The schedule for this position is Monday- Thursday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm. We Offer You! What Success Looks Like: Fabrication including drilling, punching, and riveting is required. Employee makes minor adjustments to the machine and performs simple set ups requiring dimensional changes. May install base, rail, nosing and other parts to sub assembled or fully assembled thresholds and astragals. Package and label product to required customer specifications. Make simple machine adjustments and changeovers. Maintain equipment and work area in neat, orderly condition in accordance with standard work and 5S criteria. Use of basic machines and hand tools such as punches, presses, nail/staple guns, hammers, screwdrivers etc. Use decimal tape measure, calipers, micrometers, comparators gages, fixtures and other quality equipment to maintain control of your process. Will perform and document all quality checks as required. What You Bring: Ability to use hand tools including tape measure air drill, pneumatics fixed straight-cut saw. Ability to follow both written and verbal directions. Must have flexibility to work occasional overtime. Strict adherence to safety policies. The hourly wage for this position is $16.20 per hour.
