The company has more than 60 locations through which it distributes products, equipment and chemicals, and provides customers with other value-added services including equipment repair, equipment rental and education. We’re looking for a hands-on fabricator to join our Traffic Safety shop in Sanford, FL. This role is focused on building custom truck beds for Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) trucks, along with other heavy-duty safety equipment. If you’ve worked around heavy equipment, custom truck builds, or one-off fabrication, this is the kind of work you’ll appreciate. You’ll be working from CAD drawings, mocking things up, making adjustments, and building solid equipment that goes straight into real-world work zones. Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (OT as needed) Hourly Range: $22-$24.75

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of MIG welding and fabrication experience (heavy equipment or truck builds preferred)
  • Comfortable working on custom, non-production fabrication
  • Able to read CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Confident mocking up parts and problem-solving in the shop
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work in a hands-on shop environment

Nice To Haves

  • Welding certifications are a plus, but not required
  • Automotive or equipment electrical experience is a plus , especially around lighting, wiring, or upfitted trucks
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience is a plus (or willingness to get certified)

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and MIG weld custom TMA truck beds from CAD drawings and shop specs
  • Build heavy-duty components like headache racks, mounting brackets, and equipment supports
  • Cut, fit, tack, weld, and finish steel and aluminum materials
  • Mock up custom designs and make adjustments to meet customer requirements
  • Assist with equipment assembly when needed
  • Track materials and maintain fabrication-related inventory
  • Follow all shop safety guidelines and keep your work area clean and organized
  • Work alongside electrical and paint teams, with cross-training opportunities over time
  • Inspect your own work and take pride in building it right the first time
