Requirements
- Basic Computer skills
- Ability to use measuring tools and check gauges
- Lift parts up to 35 pounds individually
- Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks
- Consistent usage of required PPE for the task being performed
- Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
- Ability to stand at the workstation while performing tasks
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Caterpillar systems ATRS (Assembly Tracking and Reliability System), PINPoint, Geneo)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
- Previous quality, welding or fabrication experience
Responsibilities
- Completes inspections of fabrication structures and undercarriage using standard work, a checklist, and tooling provided (gauges, templates, etc.)
- Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
- Inspects welds on the product to ensure it meets the specifications as outlined by Engineering.
- Identifies defects, takes pictures, and records results in the defect management system.
- Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
