Requirements

  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to use measuring tools and check gauges
  • Lift parts up to 35 pounds individually
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks
  • Consistent usage of required PPE for the task being performed
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
  • Ability to stand at the workstation while performing tasks

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar systems ATRS (Assembly Tracking and Reliability System), PINPoint, Geneo)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Previous quality, welding or fabrication experience

Responsibilities

  • Completes inspections of fabrication structures and undercarriage using standard work, a checklist, and tooling provided (gauges, templates, etc.)
  • Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
  • Inspects welds on the product to ensure it meets the specifications as outlined by Engineering.
  • Identifies defects, takes pictures, and records results in the defect management system.
  • Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
