About The Position

Are you a hands-on leader who prefers the production floor over the office? We're seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor – Fabrication & Welding to lead daily operations across our fabrication and welding departments. This is a salaried, hands-on supervisory role where leaders stay connected to their teams, support production, and step in when needed to keep work moving safely and efficiently. What You'll Do Lead and supervise daily operations across fabrication and welding areas, including laser, production saw, machining, press brake, robotic welding, and manual welding Spend time on the production floor , supporting employees, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safe, efficient workflow Coordinate schedules, job assignments, and production priorities to meet deadlines and quality standards Step in alongside your team when departments are behind or when coverage is needed due to absences Train, coach, and develop fabricators and welders to build skills, accountability, and teamwork Ensure work meets quality requirements, tolerances, and inspection standards Promote and enforce safety policies and safe work practices Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and efficiency This Role Is a Great Fit If You: Enjoy leading from the floor , not just from behind a desk Believe supervisors earn trust by being present and involved Have strong fabrication or welding experience and want to grow your leadership career Are comfortable being hands-on when production demands it Take pride in building high-quality products and strong teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in welding, metal fabrication, or a related trade
  • 1–3 years of lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Strong background in MIG welding , with the ability to coach and support welders
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
  • Experience working with common fabrication equipment (laser tables, press brakes, saws, CNC machines)
  • Knowledge of quality standards, tolerances, and inspection processes
  • Understanding of shop safety requirements and safe material handling
  • Ability to coordinate schedules, prioritize work, and manage production flow
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking and reporting
  • Experience working with steel

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in Welding, Fabrication, or Industrial Technology
  • AWS welding certifications
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing skilled tradespeople
  • Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
  • Experience with inventory and material management
  • Skilled with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and squares
