About The Position

In the Fabrication Technician – Powder Coat position, you will be responsible for loading and unloading materials onto the powder‑coat line and may also operate the powder‑coat booth. Your duties include applying powder to parts according to customer specifications, inspecting finished work to ensure it meets all quality and customer standards, and maintaining high performance to achieve production and quality targets. Foster a safe, engaged, and inclusive workplace by following all company policies, using required personal protective equipment, operating equipment safely, and completing assigned 5S tasks. Use travel documents, blueprints, and written or verbal instructions to load, unload, set up, and operate the powder‑coat line. Maintain expected progress within your assigned area and communicate any issues or concerns in a timely manner. Identify opportunities for process improvement and conduct root‑cause analysis when quality or production challenges occur. Verify product quality by measuring finished parts using tape measures and/or calipers, performing visual inspections, identifying nonconforming components, and troubleshooting defects. Cross‑train in additional tasks and provide support to other team members or functions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams, drawings, or operating instructions.
  • Experience using measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers.
  • Experience working with Eaton systems, including DMM and AS400.
